Samsung is cutting support for these devices! They will no longer receive updates

Ana sayfa / News

Samsung has announced that it is ending software update support for three relatively new Galaxy models. These devices will no longer receive new Android updates. Let’s take a look at which devices they are.

Samsung this week released details of the June 2024 security patch for its Galaxy smartphones and tablets, and the company also made changes to the list of devices that will receive security updates. Starting this month, Samsung will not release security updates for the Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A41 and Galaxy M01.

The Galaxy A51 5G was released in April 2020 with the Android 10 operating system and is currently running Android 13. The Galaxy A41, on the other hand, was launched in May 2020, also came with Android 10 and received updates up to Android 12, and has been receiving security updates until now. Finally, the Galaxy M01 was released in June 2020 and, like the A41, was upgraded from Android 10 to Android 12.

As part of Samsung’s update promises when it launched these devices, they were supported with security and Android updates for four years. Those four years are now over, so if you own one of these devices, it’s unfortunately time for a change.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 images leaked! Coming with a big notched screen

Newly revealed Galaxy Z Fold 6 images reveal that the device will have larger bezels and an angular design.

Those devices are no longer eligible for security updates, but older Galaxy devices may receive an update or two if critical vulnerabilities are discovered. This rarely happens, however, so these phones are likely to stay on the current software version.
